Columbus Cat Parade FAQ

Welcome to the Columbus Cat Parade – a joyful celebration for feline fans of all ages! Whether you're walking in the parade or cheering from the sidelines, here’s everything you need to know:

Where is the parade taking place?

The parade will begin at Wild Cat Gift & Party, 3515 N. High St. in Clintonville and proceed south down the sidewalk on the west side of High Street to Combustion Brewing, 2971 N. High St.

What time does the parade start?

Line up will begin at 5pm and the parade will step off at 6pm.

Who can walk in the parade?

Anyone and everyone! All cat lovers are welcome to walk in the parade. Dress up like a fabulous feline, wear your favorite cat shirt, carry a cat-themed sign or banner, float a cat balloon – the parade is open to all cat lovers!

Can I bring my cat?

Yes, but all animals must be enclosed in a backpack or stroller for safety reasons. We want to celebrate our feline friends and keep them safe and happy!

Where can I park?

Parking is free and abundant along High St. and on side streets in the neighborhood. Please be mindful not to park in front of neighbors’ driveways.

Where’s the best place to watch the parade?

You can watch the parade from the sidewalk on the east side of High St, from cafes and businesses open along the route (please support our small business neighbors).

How long is the parade route?

0.8 miles door to door from Wild Cat to Combustion Brewing.

How do I get back to the starting point?

If your transportation is back at the starting point and you do not feel like walking the 15 minutes back, the number 2 COTA bus arrives every 10-20 minutes and travels along High St.

Is there a cost to participate or attend?

The parade is free for all participants!

Do I need to register to walk in the parade?

Nope – you can just show up and be part of the parade!

Are costumes encouraged for participants or pets?

Costumes are always encouraged! A professional make up artist from Sage & Soul will also be at Wild Cat painting cat faces starting at 1pm.

Can I bring a dog or another pet?

Yes! All pets welcome and it would sure be funny if you dressed them up as a cat.

Will there be vendors, food trucks, or cat merchandise?

Wild Cat will be celebrating its 20 th anniversary all day with a storewide sale and a festival of fun and friends. Meet local cat non-profits, participate in hands on activities, and enjoy free cake!

Is the parade family-friendly and accessible?

Yes! All ages and abilities welcome. The parade will process along the public sidewalk which is designed to be accessible to wheelchairs and mobility devices. Those with mobility limitations should note the parade length of 0.8 miles.

What happens if it rains?

The parade rain date will be the next day, Sunday October 19th at 6pm.

Will there be restroom facilities available?

Public restrooms are available at the beginning and end of the parade at Wild Cat and Combustion Brewing.
