Get hooked on crochet! (ok, bad pun, great class!) This class is for absolute beginners, no experience necessary. In this class we will be learning some basic stitches and techniques:

  • How to read yarn labels/what yarn works for which project
  • Casting on
  • Magic Circle
  • Chain Stitch
  • Slip Stitch
  • Single Crochet
  • Increasing
  • Decreasing
  • Crocheting rows
  • Crocheting in the round
  • Crocheting in the front loop/back loop only
  • Casting off
  • Weaving in the ends

Materials:

You will need yarn, preferably worsted weight in any color but black or anything extremely dark. Please also do not choose any decorative yarn such as eyelash or chenille. A size F, G, or H hook is appropriate for this weight of yarn. A stitch marker, stitch counter, yarn needle, and a pair of scissors will all be helpful items for this class.
